Global Grants

Global Grants are partnerships between clubs in two countries. The minimum total project amount is $30,000. Clubs must be qualified in order to apply. Clubs wanting to apply for global grants should contact Global Grant Chair Barbara Kiernen at the beginning of the process to request and reserve District Designated Funds (DDF) for your project and fill out a Committment of Funds Pledge Form: Pledge Form for a D5500 club that is the International Partner in a Global Grant Project in D5500.

If you get partnering clubs in District 5500, the following Pledge Form needs to be filled out by each club: Pledge Form for a D5500 club that will be a Partner to a Global Grant Project in D5500.

If you get partnering clubs outside of District 5500,you can use the following Pledge Form if you so choose: Pledge Form form for a Rotary club from another District (non-D5500 club) that will be a Partner to a Global Grant Project in D5500.

If your club will be a Partner in a Global Grant in another District, you may get matching DDF from D5500 for that project by using this form: Pledge Form for a D5500 club that will be a Partnering Club to a Global Grant Project in another District.

D5500 only funds humanitarian projects and vocational training teams (VVT). It does not fund Global Grant Scholarships. It also has a total DDF Funding Policy for Global Grants, (please see District 5500 Policy on Allocation of DDF). D5500 clubs should also consult the documents below before opening a Global Grant Application.

Your club needs to be qualified to use Global Grant funds (See the Club Qualification Webpage for information). Please note: A minimum of two members must view the Grant Management Webinar for your club to qualify to use Global Grant funds.

It is important to remember that when you apply for a Global Grant, unlike a District Grant, you will be building your application online for the review and approval of a Rotary Foundation Regional Grants Officer (RGO). Therefore, it is important that you take the time necessary to pull everything together. What you do not want to do is to “lock” your draft application before you are confident that you have satisfactorily answered all of the application questions and attached all of the required supporting documentation.
