DISTRICT NEWS
AZ Rotary Week of Service Impact!
Congratulations to all District 5500 Rotarians, Rotaractors, and Interactors who participated in last week's Arizona Rotary Week of Service.

Our district's signature focus on food insecurity in southern Arizona made a huge difference at food banks, food pantries, community events and other direct support to families in need.
It was estimated that over 11,000 individuals were directly impacted by Rotarian efforts in just 8 days.
According to club reports, 320 Rotarians and friends combined to contribute over 900 volunteer service hours to make a difference in our communities.

A special 'thank you' also goes to DGND Emma Carrillo, Project Chair, who led this first-time District-wide effort. This was indeed Rotary in Action!
DACdb vs. ClubRunner Decision
Last week the District 5500 leadership reviewed the DACdb/ClubRunner Task Force recommendations and made the following decision:

• District 5500 will move from ClubRunner to the DACdb platform on July 1, 2024, or as soon thereafter as possible.
• District 5500 will encourage, but not require, all D5500 clubs using ClubRunner to switch to DACdb to optimize communication and alignment with District operations, and to reduce club costs.
• The District will begin discussions with DACdb immediately to implement a transition plan as soon as possible, including multiple orientation and training opportunities for district and club leadership, and all interested members.

AZ Rotary License Plate Update
After an extensive two-year process, the Rotary Clubs of Arizona announce the selection of the official license plate design.

The board of directors, consisting of Rotarians from 5495 and 5500, dedicated countless hours to meticulously review submissions, collaborate on designs, and navigate the approval process.
The official license plate will serve as a symbol of Rotary's dedication to making a positive impact in communities locally and globally.

Proceeds from the sale of the plates will be divided annually 50/50 between the two districts to support various Rotary projects and initiatives aimed at addressing critical issues such as education, health, and clean water.
