District Mental Health Action Group Update
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, which has been observed in May in the U.S. since 1949.
 
Help is out there. Here are some free resources to lean on if you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health and/or substance use crisis:
 
SAMHSA's National Helpline is a 24/7 treatment referral and information service.
988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline offers 24/7, confidential support for people in distress.
The Trevor Project provides 24/7 crisis support services to LGBTQ+ young people.
FindTreatment.gov helps people seek treatment for mental and substance use disorders.
• National Institute of Mental Health outlines additional mental health services.

New from Rotary: 3-Year Rolling Club Goals
Rotary is making a major change in how Club goals are set and how Club Action Plans (strategic plans) are developed.
 
A shift from planning for one year to planning for continuity over three years is envisioned. The change is designed to encourage the pursuit of high value long-term goals that are best served by a sustained and collaborative effort over time. It should increase the number of significant projects and initiatives which will be easier to organize and complete.

On October 18, 2024, Casino Del Sol will once again be the location of the Rotary District 5500 Conference of Clubs. Along with dynamic speakers and presentations, a big reason that the conference is so successful is the impressive attendance by so many Rotarians.
