Weekly Updates for District 5500 Rotarians
July 12, 2022

Welcome To The New Rotary Year!  (DG Anita McDonald, anitamcd@rotaryd5500.org)

Hello Rotarians.

Welcome to the new Rotary Year!

My theme for the year is Inspire = E3; Empower, Engage and Enjoy.  During my Installation, I shared that these four words were derived from my reflections about my life, my career and my involvement in Rotary.  Along my journey, various individuals took interest and time to engage and encourage me.  During my year serving as your District Governor, I hope to inspire, engage and encourage you in a way that enables your success in service to others, and  to empower your creativity to reach a broader audience and enhance the things that you do so well.

In the coming weeks I will share areas I hope we as a district can embrace such as children and youth and determine how we will increase awareness of the impact District 5500, has on Southern Arizona.

Thank you for this privilege to serve you.

It's Always Tax Season!  (Linda Stratton, lindastrat@gmail.com)
It’s always tax season!  One of the best times to think about tax savings is before you are in filing season.  Now is when you can really do something about April 15, 2023.  If you are age 70.5 or older, think about making a donation to Rotary via a tax-free IRA withdrawal.  This is called a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD).  When the check for your IRA distribution is made payable to Rotary it is not taxable.  Everyone who is 70.5 and older should at least consider this tax-advantaged strategy.
