Title Sponsor of El Tour de Tucson 2019

Rotary District 5500 is seeking to be Title Sponsor of El Tour de Tucson 2019. Being Title Sponsor will increase awareness of Rotary and our mission to eradicate Polio in Arizona and bicycling communities around the world.  It will increase the number of Rotarian riders in El Tour which will increase pledges resulting in record-setting fundraising for PolioPlus and the eradication of Polio once and for all.  In the past 9 years, Rotarians riding in El Tour de Tucson have made over $53M including the Bill and Melinda Gates Match.  This is a District-wide endeavor to be Title Sponsor and we want everyone to be proud of this effort. To be Title Sponsor of El Tour de Tucson we need to raise $200,000.  If we achieve this goal, El Tour de Tucson would be referred to as “Rotary District 5500’s El Tour de Tucson.”  Our District logo will appear on everything associated with El Tour.  We will have a spot on the Perimeter Bicycling Board, a press release announcing our Title Sponsorship, several press conferences leading up to the Ride, a table at the dedication dinner, regular references in the TailWinds magazine, our logo would be on every medallion handed out to every rider, we are able to put an exclusive “What is Rotary” letter in every rider’s number package, and many other benefits. Most importantly, such exposure and branding in our community will undoubtedly increase membership, raise awareness of Polio and further our goal to eradicate it.

We are challenging each of you to raise money for this incredible opportunity for our District.  If you raise the most money* by midnight May 1st, you will win a one week stay at the beautiful house on the bay in San Carlos PLUS two seats at the Ride To End Polio Dinner on the eve of El Tour 2019.  The runner up will win two seats at the dinner.  

To help you with your efforts we have amazing promotional videos donated by Star Studios & Agency in New York.  These videos are unbelievable!  (The links are below.)We have sound bites from Former Mayor and Rotarian Extraordinaire Bob Walkup, Tucson City Councilman and avid cyclist Steve Kozachik and members of your RTEP El Tour Sponsorship Committee. 

All you need to do is email RidetoEndPolio@gmail.com to become a team member on the District's GOFUMNDME campaign.

You can also direct people to the District website ridetoendpolio.org and tell them to follow the links. Then, have the people who you get to donate choose you in the team when they make their donations.

All contributions are IRS qualified charitable contributions.  GoFundMe will issue the 501(c)(3) receipt immediately after the donation is made.  Receipts for checks will issue from the District.

Again, this is a District-wide, sanctioned, campaign to be Title Sponsor of El Tour de Tucson 2019.  We hope you will accept our challenge and catapult our humble, little District into international notoriety as THE record-setting PolioPlus fundraising District.

* To qualify for the stay in the San Carlos home, an individual’s cumulative money raised must be over $10,000. The house has a master bedroom with a king size bed, a guest bedroom with 2 full-size beds, a futon room and 2 bathrooms with walk-in showers.
